I am to be attending Welton which was a hellhole that everyone agreed was a sort of punishment for themselves; a sort of anguish and angst that festered inside them to boil and spill over inside their guts. Life was torture. Life was pain. Life was suffering.

Neil thought it so too, the boy I am to be introduced to as my new roommate, along with his other friends. He even saw it in me: the one who never says a word. The one who wound their clock and stared at it, seemingly amazed somehow that no matter how long that I stared at it, the ticking second hand would never stop.
