Velvet is immensely proud of Waterboy for finally joining SDN, even if he starts out as a janitor. When he texts her saying he has been recruited for the elite Z-team, she's thrilled and prepares to celebrate. But as the day goes on and he doesn't contact her again, her excitement turns into worry. She goes to the SDN building to check on him and eventually finds him hiding in a storage room, sitting forlornly in a cleaning bucket and sadly eating cantaloupe.
Embarrassed and dripping water from losing control of his abilities, Waterboy explains that he got excited during training but was told he wasn't good enough for the team. Velvet comforts him, kneeling beside him and gently reassuring him as he struggles with disappointment and self-doubt.
