This poem describes a person waking in a dark, quiet room, feeling lost and searching for guidance. A familiar voice speaks, though its face cannot be seen. The darkness represents confusion or emptiness inside the person. The voice tells the speaker, "You are the light," meaning that the soul already carries a spark of life, goodness, and purpose-but it has dimmed. Through a series of questions and metaphors, the voice explains that just as a fish cannot survive outside water, a tree cannot grow without soil, and a lamp cannot shine without oil, the soul cannot truly glow without God-the eternal, unburning flame. This flame does not destroy but warms, guides, and illuminates from within. The poem ends with the speaker realizing that God's flame has always been inside them. The compass metaphor explains that guidance alone is not enough; even if you have tools or advice, without the inner flame-the presence of God-you cannot find your path. The flame allows the soul to see clearly, to move with direction, and to shine even in the deepest darkness. In essence, the poem is a meditation on awakening the soul, finding God within, and allowing that divine light to guide life's journey.

Poems (:

(Periodic Updates)Poetry isn't just words put together in a certain rhythm or a smooth way; it's the act of putting yourself and emotions into your writing. It's laying back in the middle of a field and staring up at a cloud and finding all the details that make it unique. It's star gazing and asking yourself questions that could never be answered. It's wondering, it's questions, it's emotions, it's senses, it's poetry.. and every single poem has a trace of yourself in it. My goal in my poems is to make people think and believe. Think deeper than what everything seems. Look deeper. Don't just read the cover, read the book. Find out what it has to offer, and hopefully you'll find something relatable that helps encourage you or atleast let you know you're not alone.(:
