Reiner was always closed off. You could never read his face or understand if he was joking or not. He was very intimidating to others and in the end it was difficult for him to make friends. For him, this felt right. Being alone felt right. Nothing could convince him otherwise, the idea of letting people know too much or feel too much about him made him nauseous almost.

Most people would describe Y/N as the complete opposite of Reiner. She was what most people would say a light in someone's life. Everyone she surrounded her knew her as a genuine friend, who would do anything for the people she cared for. She was filled for love when it came to the right people, a gift she hadn't realized she carried.

As Reiner first met Y/N he felt scared of her, scared of feeling too much. The way she smiled at him so warm like they'd known each other for long, frightened him. To Y/N, she felt intrigued and truthfully a little intimidating, but she wished to understand him. Frankly she wished the break his armoured wall.
