Enlighten Me

He looked at me with angry eyes. "You owe me, you crashed my car, and this is how I want you to pay me back," he said.

I stared back and said, "I don't want to be your girlfriend. I already have a boyfriend, Holden." My voice was sharp because I wanted to hurt him.

I thought I could pay him back with money, but instead he wanted me to move in with him and be his girlfriend.

"Forget Noah, he's using you, can't you see, Madelyn?" he said, trying to make me upset.

"Noah would never do that. Noah and I are going to get married one day, and he will be the one to take my virginity, not you!" I shouted, hitting his chest with my fist.

He grabbed my arm, his grip tight. "Madelyn, listen to me. I'm the one who cares about you, not Noah," he said, his voice low but angry.

I pulled my arm away fast. "You don't care about me. You just want control. I'm not going to let you decide my life," I said, my words shaking but strong.

His face looked hurt for a second, then hard again. "You'll regret this," he muttered.

I stood tall even though my hands were shaking. "Noah is the one I love. Nothing you say will change that," I told him.

The room felt heavy, like the air was too thick to breathe. My heart was pounding, but I didn't back down.
