Kai is dying twice.

His body-ravaged by a rare terminal illness-gives him weeks. The neural killchip forcibly jammed into his skull gives him 72 hours. Miss a target, and his brain melts. Complete it, and the clock resets... along with a new name. A harder target. A deadlier upgrade ripped from his victim's corpse and wired into his failing flesh.

He was just a frail hacker desperate for one last score-enough to buy the treatment that might save his life. Instead, he tried to steal from the wrong syndicate. Now he's their puppet assassin, hunting through the neon-slicked hell of 2077 Tokyo with a countdown burning behind his eyes.
