Itachi, accustomed to losing himself for days in the Northern lands to escape the harsh reputation he had as a serial killer, stumbles upon the discovery that the remote Tomioka clan is real.
The Tomioka are an ancient pacifist family that lives on the fringes of the shinobi world. Their purpose is to mourn the souls of the dead and return their chakras, powers, and even Kekkei Genkai to the world of the living. Itachi becomes fascinated by the sobs of one of them, Kaede, who agrees to make a contract with him, allowing him to mourn for the Uchiha clan and bring them peace.
The agreement seems to end with that goal, but the Tomioka clan hides far more secrets than Itachi expected.
