Cass is the town's most disciplined figure skater, driven by precision and relentless work, determined to prove she deserves every ounce of praise she earns. They are opposites in nearly every way, yet bound by the same spotlight and a rivalry that has followed them for years.

Both girls are fighting for control over who they are meant to be. Zeph wants distance from the tension that shaped her childhood.
