In a world shattered by the mysterious Propagation, Formula 1 driver Lando Norris and his best friend Max Fewtrell have managed to survive three long years on a lonely semi-desert island off the ruined coast of Thailand. Civilization has collapsed, electricity is gone, and humanity has slipped into violence, starvation, and silence. But everything changes the day a strange blue-and-black butterfly begins following Lando-a creature that seems too calm, too focused, too deliberate to be natural. When the pair discover a dying woman whose legs have turned entirely to stone, they learn about a new horror spreading through the world: a stone-forming virus consuming entire villages from the toes upward. With danger closing in, Lando and Max flee inland-only to collide with one of Lando's oldest friends from his childhood karting days: George Russell, alive but carrying scars from surviving alone for years. As the trio move toward rumored safe zones in the northern mountains, Lando begins having vivid dreams of Oscar Piastri-dreams that feel too real, too purposeful, and always guided by the same butterfly.
