Alastor had been grappling with strange, unwelcome feelings toward Vox-feelings that twisted tighter every time the blue demon so much as brushed against him. Alastor tried to dismiss it as irritation, a byproduct of proximity and pride.
But denial had its limits.
The tension had been building too long, humming beneath the surface like a wire stretched too thin. At last, Alastor decided to stop running from it. He was going to do something about it.
