Lilly lives a tranquil life in Nice , Paris . Her life as an architecture student is left completelyunturned when a stranger enters her life . A chance encounter at an architectural event ends up becoming something memorable , more than a few , mere fleeting moments . An unexpected bond develops between Lilly and Christopher , bringing them closer than they actually could imagine , ever in their life . Amidst all of this , Lilly looses her most precious possession , her mother , to a mysterious serial killer . Surprisingly , while she grieves for her dead mother , her apparently new partner ends up disappearing as well , having become completely unavailable .

A series of murders racks the city , gradually . Women who are single , or single mothers are britally strangled to death with a polythene bag , and left in the central plaza by night , for the entire crowd to witness the fiasco the next day . A sudden realization , and revealation , leaves the young fashion designer in shock - a letter from her supposed lover , but almost presented like a threat . Lilly's life spirals into the memory of a particular night , when she returned home at midnight , with a polythene bag in her hand . Who is the actual killer , and what was Christopher really doing ?
