The battle rages for a soul, a city, a world-a world built upon the grave of the ancient gods. These gods of legend, the mythologies of the universe, were all truly the vanquished armies of the Dark god of the underworld. Upon their tomb lies the mega-city of Nike Downs, a festering pit of crime, violence, vice, and political corruption. It is a major attraction upon the nightmarish world of shadows known as Darkness Falls, a haven for supernatural beings, alien races from across the universe, devious crime syndicates, supervillains, and street vigilantes.

But the most feared enforcer of these streets is HamBone, the self-styled Emperor of Nike Downs, who lives a lie and doesn't know it. The Dark god knows the Divine Heavenly truth-a monumental secret he will do anything to keep from the legendary street vigilante he is so meticulously trying to shape in his own dark image.
