Kenji Hashimoto has never been one to take life too seriously, he is always the first to lighten the mood or provide comedic relief for the group. But things need to change. Kenji always knew he was to inherit his father's company, the requirement being he graduated from University with a 4.0. He transfers to Westshore University for his senior year so he can finally get his sh*t together before graduation. Nobody takes him seriously at his fathers' company because of his seemingly carefree attitude and class clown reputation. With graduation looming Kenji needs two things; a tutor because he is failing one of his classes and secondly, to become the man his dad would've wanted to take on the family business. Hailey Gomez is the complete opposite. She has been told that she might take everything a little too seriously, letting her planner dictate her every move. She is at the top of her program, and her eyes are set on getting into the top law school in the country. She has worked her ass off to get where she is, a scholarship student, working two jobs while simultaneously fighting for custody of her younger sister Gracie. Known for being cold and collected, she has built walls around her heart. When Hailey's friend Juliet asks her to tutor a friend, Hailey knows she can't say no because she needs the money. The problem is that her friend is Kenji, a guy who can push her buttons and get on her nerves like no other. Until Hailey came into his life Kenji never thought seriously about his future. But what happens when he wants that future to include Hailey? Until Kenji came into her life Hailey had forgotten how to live her life outside of her planner, how to live life for herself. **This story takes place three weeks after where Pretending left off. You can read this as a stand-alone but reading pretending would help you know the backstory of the other characters and the love story behind Warner and Juliet.
