"Genevieve Smith", or Elizabeth Barnes, is a young adult trying to live a normal life, after mysteriously being awakened after she thought she "died" in 1946. After being "awakened", she's placed in an apartment, with no idea who awakened her and how. Finding herself thrown into the modern world, she tries her best to cope. Three years later, when she finally feels like she has a bit of a grip on things, Nick Fury approaches her, wanting her to join S.H.I.E.L.D. Elizabeth is very reluctant, but agrees to come to S.H.I.E.L.D., if Nick promises to tell her the why's and how's of her "awakening". What Elizabeth doesn't plan on when arriving is falling back in love with Steve Rogers. Will she be able to get past her feelings, as memories from her former life come flooding back, and conflict with new, startling discoveries?
