You touched me like a match
struck in a room soaked in gasoline,
and I knew from the first spark
I would burn for you.
Your eyes are velvet night
with storms hidden beneath,
a warning whispered in silence-
but I never learned to run.
Your love is a locked room,
no windows, no doors,
and yet I step inside willingly,
chaining myself from the inside.
You taste like sin,
like secrets my soul shouldn't want,
and still my heart opens its throat
and begs for more.
You are the danger
my mother warned me about-
but how do you walk away
from the bullet
your heart is already chasing?
So here I stay,
bleeding beautifully,
loving recklessly,
burning quietly,
and hoping
in the end
the fire we lit
doesn't become
