Damien is about to get some new friends and it isn't soon enough. The young heir to the Lansing fortune has never met another child his own age and the Morgan children can tell. In spite of a bumpy start, the trio would soon become inseparable as the Morgan family spends summer after summer in the Lansing home. Damien begins to see Isabella in a different light and from the innocence of childhood friendship something more begins to evolve. At the young age of seventeen, Damien finds himself caught up in an overwhelming flood of emotions, only to have his heart ripped out when his father sends him away to school.

After five years away from home and his beloved, Damien returns with high hopes that are soon dashed. The Lansing Empire is losing money and his sweet Isabella has been promised to marry another man. In a move to gain a high-powered business investor, Damien's father and Mr. Morgan use Isabella to secure the deal. Damien's need to be with Isabella drives him to a reckless decision. In the aftermath, his anger and confusion lead him blindly into the arms of a dangerous stranger. Caught in the middle of something he doesn't understand Damien's entire life spirals further down as the unthinkable happens. He soon finds out death is only the beginning. Eternity waits...
