Terror Beneath The Waves

Harriet Dukas may have found her comfort in working as a live-in caregiver, but deep down, she holds a hatred for humanity. What's worse? She knows she possesses supernatural abilities, which she's learned to harness and hide from people for a long time, including the rising mob of witch-hunters.

Ever since a dangerous and powerful coven emerged during the precolonial era of the 1900s in Ghana, the witch-hunters have always stayed on guard. But that wasn't enough to stop the coven from terrorizing the townsfolk using inhuman rituals and curses. The hunters drove them out with a weapon of their own, but now, ever since Harriet was born, the weapon's stronghold has begun to fluctuate, and people speculate the coven might find its way back into the town.

As Harriet takes care of an aging woman with Alzheimer's, strange and mysterious deaths begin to occur. Floods appear out of nowhere, and most of the drowning victims turn out to be young. The townsfolk become stricken with fear, with many believing the coven has returned and some thinking it's a myth. Harriet detects the presence of something sinister operating among the people, something on a spiritual level like her. Something lurking beneath the waters.

With her younger sister at risk of being a victim, Harriet must decide whether to put aside her misanthropy and help the witch-hunting clansmen find and deal with the unwanted presence. Or watch with satisfaction as people continue to drown in disturbing ways.
