As We Were

Recent Boston University grad Chloe Sato has had a rough couple of months. Her long-time boyfriend has just broken up with her and taken a job in London. Her older sister, who is more like her mother, has just started a family of her own. Feeling out of place and overgrown for her environment, Chloe gets an apartment in downtown Boston, just minutes away from her new job at a large restaurant enterprise. On the upside, she loves her new job, when her boss's boss, and family friend Andrew Davis isn't breathing down her neck. Chloe's been sober for five months now, since graduation, and she plans to keep it that way. As long as things stay smooth from here on out.

Andrew Davis's family views him as nothing but a fuck-up. In college, he'd made one too many mistakes, and now here he was, four years later, still picking up the pieces. He came back to Boston a year before to take a job as an executive in his family's restaurant sector. Though if he'd known half of his day would be spent giving his older brother, and official board member, ideas, only to be shut down, he may not have come back at all. And so what if he's tough on his employees? He needs them to be at their very best, at all times; especially if his mother is ever going to give him a controlling vote in the company. Chloe Sato is no different, even if they've known each other since middle school-even if Drew's eyes always lingered on hers a little too long.
