The Second Protocol

Bucky is operating as a double agent, working deep undercover for a highly suspicious military General while secretly cooperating with SHIELD and the Avengers. His current mission involves a kill order on a person who is secretly Steve Rogers, who is also working a black-op with Natasha Romanoff.

The true enemy is a technological threat tied directly to Hydra's deepest roots and the work of Arnim Zola. This new villain possesses the knowledge of a terrifying "Secondary Protocol"-a complete failsafe designed to override Bucky's recovered mind and turn him back into the Winter Soldier.

Caught between an immediate military order to eliminate his friend and the ultimate threat of losing his own free will, Bucky and Clint Barton must execute a desperate, high-wire act from the shadows to protect Steve, secure the dangerous intelligence, and save Bucky from a fate worse than death.
