My First Mistake

Amaris had pratically sentenced himself to a lifetime of "staying out of trouble " .
Shy, easily flustered, quiet, always cautious -gentle and smart to a fault. People see him as someone unapproachable.
That's wasn't the image he wanted to project, not at all, but... well,
there wasn't much he could do about it. Because of the circumstances he'd had to deal with throughout his childhood, he never realy had the chance to go out and just BE. So he built walls- high ones, thick ones - walls that couldn't be broken down easily.

When Amaris was forced by his parents to return to his hometown in Alabama for the summer vacation, he tought it'd be three months of quiet, of lying low, of symply surviving small town life.
But then - surprise.
The ONE person he prayed, begged, PLEADED never to see again showed up like fate had a personal grudge against him.

From that moment on, everything spiraled downhill. This presence alone threatened to ruin every carefully laid plan for his three-month stay.

Zephyr.
Everything Amaris wasn't.
Confident. Shamelessly bold. Too tempting for his own good, and painfully aware of it. The kind of person that could just walk into a room and bend the atmosphere around him without even trying. Loud where Amaris was quiet, bold where Amaris hesitated. A storm wrapped in charm.

And- worse he seemed genuinely pleasad to see Amaris again.
