DxD: A Rider's Second Chance

The year is 2033 and life has been miserable for one Shotaro Onodera, son of Joe Onodera, and the grandson of famous Shotaro Ishinomori.

Originally Shotaro wanted to be one thing more than anything and that was to be a Kamen Rider. Unfortunately after gaining the ability to become a Kamen Rider thanks to the sacred gear he was born with, he found out that there was more than flashy kicks and poses. The life of a Kamen Rider genuinely sucks, and after an incident where he failed to save someone from a stray devil, he decided that for everyone's sake it was better if he left everyone behind and dropped off the face of the earth.

Now years later his mistakes come back to haunt him in the shape of a little blonde boy who went by his father's name, whom later decided that for the sake of his father and mother's happiness he would do the unimaginable, which was to reset the entire world. But just before Shotaro's memories would be erased by the reset, he made a promise even if he wouldn't even remember it. And what was that promise?

"I promise you, I won't make the same mistakes again, and I will not only fight for everyone else's happiness but also....my own"
