Eclipse

Ryuko Ken is a girl who grew up in a village completely isolated from the outside world-a place where every decision was made by men, and only they were allowed to become shinobi. From childhood, women were taught to clean, serve, and obey.

Ryuko lived with her parents, whom she often saw arguing. More than once, her father hurt her mother, and Ryuko despised him for it. She was rebellious but fearful; growing up in such a restrictive environment made it difficult to be anything else.

The most extreme and oppressive person in the entire village was its leader-an elderly yet powerful man she had always hated. He knew her personally, having been a family friend for years, and he was well aware of her dream: becoming a ninja and protecting her mother. The leader, whom she was forced to call obasan, mocked that ambition every chance he got.

Ryuko's anger was impossible to contain, and one desire consumed her: to make him swallow his words.

One night, after yet another heated argument with the leader, she reached her limit. She decided to run away-far from the village, far from everything she'd known-and finally chase her dream.

But that would not be the last time the village saw her.
