LETTERS FOR MY EX (Breakup Poems)

Doom scrolled myself into shameful oblivion.
Questioned the state of my sanity.
All because you wouldn't text me back.

I rehearsed every question
and typed every vowel and consonant:

Did you want our soul tie to snap by my trembling hands?
Have I provided the relief you so desperately craved?
Do you regret dropping your sword and armor?

Released into the network of a billion series of code.
But it never reached your phone.

Breaking your egotistical heart was meant
to liberate my fragile soul.
Yet your grasp on my corpse remained.

My ash-less urn took its place
In my family's pet columbarium.

A ruby encrusted plaque reads:

Suffering in malice,
For there was no sign of peace for this wandering ghost.
At least - not yet.
