Prologue

I was saying... In the sleepy town of Ashwood, where the streets are lined with ancient trees and the houses are adorned with cobwebs, there is a legend about three brothers who live in a grand mansion on the outskirts of town. They are said to be mysterious and handsome, with piercing eyes that seem to see right through you. Some say they are vampires, while others claim they are warlocks. But one thing is certain: they are wealthy, powerful, and utterly captivating.

For as long as anyone can remember, the brothers have lived in the mansion, surrounded by their vast collection of rare and unusual items. They are known to be collectors of the strange and unknown, and their mansion is said to be filled with all manner of curious objects.

But the brothers are not just collectors of things. They are also collectors of people. They have a way of drawing you in, of making you feel like you belong with them. And once you are under their spell, it is impossible to resist their charms.

I should know. I've been drawn into their world, and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to escape.

The Roseblood Clan. Three thousand years worth of magic cursing through their people's blood. Long before the Bennetts, before the Travellers, The Other Side and the Ancestors, there had been the Roseblood clan. Witches forged from the dying breath of a dragon in the centre of Scotland. The blood of the dragon was the legacy of their people. Yet, stories and history could be twisted by the victors of the many battles that had plagued the clan. A war between kin had destroyed the legacy of the Roseblood Clan. After a thousand years, their rule of magic had come to a halt. For over two thousand years, a story had been spun. The story of the evil siphoner. The abomination that had ruined their line. Yet, the truth loomed, threatening to reveal the true reason as to why siphoners existed. What their true purpose was. Were they abominations, the bastards of the magical world or were they meant to take power from those undeserving to ensure it was not misused? Only the victor of the battle gets to tell the tale. Athena Flora Roseblood was far from a victor. Being a firstborn Roseblood had cursed her like many others before her. Firstborn women in their line were not meant to meet their first breath of air, they were destined to die, to be sacrificed within the womb to help empower their coven, yet for the first time in two thousand years, a firstborn woman had come screaming into the world. Athena was never been meant to be born. Her blood haunted her from the second she took her first breath, her house divided thanks to thousands of years of lies. Lies that may never come to the light of day. Fear was a powerful totem and after two thousand years of lies, it left Athena trapped within the cage created for her. The abomination, the bastard of nature, the Roseblood Siphoner. Nothing to the world but a mistake and a monster.

When Aurora is dragged into the crumbling mansion of five mysterious brothers, she expects cruelty, punishment-maybe even death. Instead, she finds herself caught in something far more complicated. The brothers are not men at all, but vampires locked in a hidden war against a rival clan intent on destroying mankind. Each one carries a power beyond human comprehension, and each one watches her with a hunger she can't decipher. What begins as captivity slowly twists into something stranger, an uneasy companionship, a dangerous attraction. Aurora is torn between fear and fascination as the brothers reveal pieces of their world: their secrets, their vulnerabilities, and the shadow of a war in which she somehow plays a role. But the mansion is no safe haven. Between enemies lurking in the forest, the weight of her debt, and the storm of feelings she can't control, Aurora must decide whether to fight for her freedom or surrender to the darkness drawing her closer.
