He never wanted to get involved with the Black Rose.

Yet when his attempts at living honestly fail miserably and the crime syndicate's scout coerces him to work for them with the things he knows about him, he has no choice but to return to the life he gave up as he takes on his supervillain persona again in becoming the fearsome Crimson Shadow.

As the Crimson Shadow, he serves as the crime syndicate's information broker. A questionable role but one that pays well as he's able to cover rent and the finances his daughter would have normally handled. More so though, he's able to make their relatively new apartment feel more comfortable and gets her to stop working multiple jobs per their agreement. As such, she's able to catch up on her sleep and focus on her occupation as a detective.

Given all of this, it seems he has everything under control. But when an assignment takes a turn and causes him to do the unthinkable, he assumes the worst as he thinks he's going to get fired or 'silenced' by the Black Rose especially when he leaves behind their calling card. Instead, he'll find himself caught off-guard when his actions are rewarded with a promotion as he becomes their newest elite assassin.

A role that comes with a higher payout and a lot more challenges as his assignments get harder and he begins to struggle with juggling his double life in ways like never before. Something that only gets harder when the calling card he left behind comes back to haunt him as it's discovered by the Supers Agency.

Now with the black rose found, he must try to keep his two worlds apart as he doesn't want the two to collide. Yet he will find it's a lot easier said than done when an investigation is launched by the Supers Agency and it's led by none other than his daughter...
