When Voldemort survives the night in Godric's Hollow, The soul bond between them awakens immediately causing him to realise that Harry is a Horcrux.

Instead of killing the child, Voldemort delivers him to Sirius Black and Remus Lupin on one condition: Sirius must take the Dark Mark, and Remus must join Greyback's pack. In return, they may raise Harry safely in a world ruled by the Dark Lord.

Growing up, Harry learns that Voldemort is the savior of the wizarding world and Dumbledore the one who almost destroyed it. Guided by the Horcrux, Harry is drawn deeper into the darkness that shaped him.
