Blood Before Dawn (The Last Sundang)

Buyong Matanayon, known as "The Last Sundang," is an aging, legendary master swordsman. Though he is an old man, he remains a formidable warrior, famous throughout the islands and once undefeated in single combat in his youth.

Matanayon has fought the monstrous Aswangs his entire life and continues to fight the shapeshifting monsters even as an old man. He also faces even darker creatures like the Tayawran. He is driven by the knowledge that monsters always return and that legends need successors.
