The Letters
The most intimate journey into the characters of Cenquizqui lies beneath the broken wax seal of The Letters. What they reveal is entirely dependent upon their relationship with the recipient. Gaze through their masks and discover the confessions of the fragmented outsider. Threads of their fragility and wonder lay painfully and touchingly naked.

    The Novel
    Cenquizqui
Martín, a biracial conquistador questions his privilege as he learns of his Indigenous roots. He is the New World. He and the mestizos rise from the dust of Tenochtitlán to a time of rebellion and magic. Where illicit affairs and proper marriage coexist like cacao and milk, Martín, the reflective medicine woman, and a Poet with the Monkey Laugh wander deep into the chambers of forbidden love, distorted identity, torture racks, pirates, and sea monsters. Will they emerge with their inner worlds realized and whole? Or crumble to pieces trying?

"Farzaneh..." I pull her to me, flinching when my sleeve rolls back, her eyes drawn to the markings. On my bare skin's a map revealing a different tattoo, one for every person I killed. I hate looking at the running tally of tattoos on my body. It reminds me of how many I've murdered. Reminds me I'm a human with a death goddess. My hakama, the color blue, blends into the folds of the red cloak around her, the effect like fire and ice. I bat my lashes, flex my muscles, all wiry from climbing the rigging when I get bored. "I'm just a boy." The look on her face is cruel. It reminds me why those chains are on her wrists. We're both cursed. The King's Courtier by thekingscourtierbook
15 parts Ongoing
This story is a romantic fantasy set in the future. Keep in mind each chapter is 10 page long. In the year 2200, the world is no longer ruled by presidents or individual governments. The entire globe is ruled by a single immortal king - King Sulfur. Continents are now "categories" separating people in terms of talent. Aurelia, the protagonist, is apart of the beauty category. Although Elexia is a world in which everyone is satisfied, those in the beauty and slavery categories still face oppression. Those in her category are to become escorts and prostitutes when they're of age, not given an alternative choice in contrast to those in every other category. Aurelia was born to become the king's personal escort despite her impeccable talents in each category and when she was taken to the castle, she kept true to herself and held on to her sharp tongue. She soon realized that the castle hides many secrets. She was met with the anonymous eight who were King Sulfur's closest friends. No one knew their true purpose and looks beyond the castle's court because the castle's magic would erase everyone who stepped out's memory of them. The two strongest of the eight turn out to be the main love interests of Aurelia. While she tries to resolve her unrequited feelings for a man she formerly despised, she realizes that she has grown attached to the king. She simultaneously wrestles feelings for her old best friend and tries to discover with whom her heart truly lies. TW: oppression, sexism, vulgar language and scenes. Mature content and intimate scenes present.
