35 Unexpected Family

Crimes against children.

A man who had already committed one criminal act and who was on the verge of committing more.

A goddess who would protect children at all costs and cheerfully torture their abusers.

A case of confusion, and longstanding emotional turmoil, and a family.

Her holiness the goddess Hale would normally take anyone who'd committed any sort of crime against a child away into her dungeons, but there was something about Phil, his honesty, his background, and the truth of his own childhood experiences, that saw her offer him her guarded and cautious trust.

Vicky could never have realised, the day she met Phil, where that meeting would eventually bring her to.

This story talks about sex but is not explicit, however I have marked it as 'mature' just in case the themes of the tale might be disturbing. Note that it does have a 'happy ever after' and the true criminals in the story definitely get their comeuppance.

Although the story is set in the same fantasy world as my other tales, it is not really a fantasy story except for the existence of the deities who feature in the tale and the use of the magic described, and it can stand alone if need be.
