"Have you had sex?" he started.

I choked on spit, "Really? That's your opener? We are just starting off strong?"

"Answer," he demanded.

"No. Have you?"

"Yes," he answered a little too quickly for my liking. "How do you feel about me?"

"Honestly, I'm conflicted. I've known you for less than a week. I mean, you are only using me for a ritual."

He was quiet.

"How many times have you had sex?"

"More than I care to admit."

Sadness flooded through me with his answer. That was not an emotion I was expecting to feel.

Of course he had bedded others, I mean he was Lucifer. What was I expecting from that question? For him to be a blank slate?

His gaze lingered on me.

"Does that upset you?"

I shook my head avoiding his eyes.
