We Were Legends

"I-I'm not fooled by you," I slurred, "Not like you- your other human pets."

He ran his hands up my body. "Of course not, I've never seen you as one of them." He leaned down, his hands making their way to brush the length of my neck. "You're better. I always see you."

"No, I always see you, because I know you- what you are," I said while stepping out of his arms and facing him, hateful- yet still dancing for him. I spun, and as I returned to face him, he reached out to take hold of my hand, pulling it up towards the ceiling and rocking us back and forth- taking control of my movement to glide with him.

"And yet," he twirled me, pulling me into his arms with my back resting against his chest once more. "You still dance for me." He turned me by my waist and reached up to hold my face. "And you just can't stop, can you?"
