Excerpt

"He didn't cry when our mother died." Karan added.

Her heart sank at his sudden blunt words. She took a deep breath and stared at him to continue further but when he didn't speak, she tried. "W-Why not?"

He shrugged.

"It's okay. Sometimes, our emotions become too overwhelming to even feel them." She whispered.

Karan's dry laugh echoed. "No, you're not getting it, Deva."

"Huh?"

She waited impatiently for him to answer but when he didn't, she pressed further.

"What am I not getting, Karan?"

"He left us."

"Who?" She asked.

"Cheeku?"

"My elder brother. He left us to die Deva.." He replied. "He left when our own mother was hospitalised, he left me and my dying Mumma for him. He chose for him. He left her own mother to die Deva and for whom he left, he wasn't our real brother. We shared the same father and.why? Why should I be the one to become considerate and act like fuc..." Karan wiped his mouth with the back of his hand then pushed everything off the table.

She wasn't just a child, She was a miracle. Born after generations of prayers and silent yearning, Tejo arrived like the dawn after a long night in the mighty Suryavanshi dynasty. A family built on strength, pride, love and tradition found its heart softened by a pair of tiny hands and eyes that held galaxies. She was their light, their laughter, their moon wrapped in stardust. Even the sternest of men melted before her innocent smile, their proud heads bowed to the little girl who unknowingly ruled them all. But fate, ever watching, never plays fair. One night everything changed. One moment, giggles, blessings and love filled the air. The next, silence. A cruel twist no one saw coming, no one could stop. The light vanished. Just like that. Gone. No warning. No goodbye. Just a void so deep it swallowed the entire family. The Suryavanshis, once unshaken and mighty, crumbled under the weight of their grief. Her absence became a shadow that haunted every sunrise, her name a whisper too sacred to speak aloud. Years went by. Time moved forward, but hearts stayed frozen in the moment she left. And then... the winds shifted again. Tejo returned, no longer the pampered princess she once was. At a young age, she faced countless emotional hardships, far away from the warmth of her family one she didn't even know existed. Life tested her in ways she could never have imagined. But beneath the surface of her silent pain, she found strength. Hiding her emotional wounds behind a calm exterior, she grew resilient not just for herself, but for the unbreakable bond she formed along the way. That bond became her anchor, her reason to keep moving forward. This is the story of Tejo, a girl destined to shine, who found her light even in the darkest of times. Take a deeper look into her journey, one of pain, strength, family and love.......✍️🏻❤

And Ice cream. The message popped up again. His Bhaiyu was making it hard to ignore. Darwaza khol, yaar. Mogambo uth jayenge. Ansh glared at the French windows. Even desperate his Bhaiyu would not quit the name calling. Shall I leave? Ansh did not respond. Okay! Leaving the ice-cream outside. Take it before it melts. Ansh did not respond, but his heart skipped a beat. He wanted to meet his Bhaiyu. He was even a little desperate, but he did not wish to give in so soon. So, he counted until 100 and then slowly made his way outside. Iris hopped down from the bed and followed behind him. Ansh opened the doors with a big heart only to find a basket filled with dumb yellow smile squishes and a big tub of ice-cream in between. A few CD's were tucked into the basket almost as an afterthought. The game CD's that Ansh wanted. Ansh glared at the basket. "Do minute nahi rukh saktey they kya?" He muttered under his breath. "You made me wait 17 minutes, kidoo" A voice whispered in his ears. Ansh almost screamed but Nirbhay's palm closed around his mouth before any sound could slip. Ansh's heart thudded in his chest. His Bahiyu had almost given him a heart attack. Nirabhay grabbed the basket and slipped inside with Ansh, and shut the door behind him.
