In which a not so promising ex-villain with unique but useful powers strikes a deal with the courts to get out of life in prison: serving as a detective in SDN's investigative department.
Echo does not fit in at SDN. She's sneaky, conniving and selfish, making enemies everywhere she goes. Not to mention she's now forced to work in the same vicinity as the man who took everything from her, Robert Robertson, AKA, Mecha Man. Her only objectives? To carry out her allotted hours, stay out of trouble and get an approval statement from Blonde Blazer that will keep her out of a jail cell.

Since I haven't been able to find a full English adaptation or translation of the novel, this story is based only on the summary and a few excerpts I have come across.
