Mara Vale is known on campus as difficult. She's blunt, sharp-tongued, and widely disliked by student government because she runs the anonymous opinion column The Floor, which regularly dismantles their "performative leadership."

So when Eli Navarro, the golden-boy Student Government President, proposes a campus transparency reform, Mara publicly tears it apart in her column-calling it elitist, hollow, and designed to look good rather than help students.

Eli hates her.

He sees Mara as reckless, bitter, and irresponsible-someone who criticizes without offering solutions. Mara sees Eli as an entitled poster boy who confuses popularity with leadership.

They have never spoken-until the faculty adviser forces Mara to serve as student press liaison to student government.
