As OJ and Paper were on the road together, the world stretching out before them. Paper laughed, leaning on OJ's shoulder, and for a moment, everything felt perfect.
Then something inside OJ snapped. He didn't know why-some dark hunger, some uncontrollable urge-and before he could try to stop himself, he... consumed Paper. Not in the literal, normal sense, but the world twisted, and Paper became something fragile and fleeting, something he couldn't save from himself.
When it was over, OJ sank to the ground, staring at the emptiness where his boyfriend had been. The wind whispered, but it brought no comfort. Just guilt. Crushing, endless guilt. He couldn't undo it. He couldn't forgive himself. And every step forward on the road felt heavier than the last, because Paper-his love-was gone.
