Ashton Marcello Chavez has built a reputation as one of the country's most unstoppable racers, and one of its most complicated personalities. The track is the only place where everything makes sense to him. Off it, he prefers distance, silence, and keeping people exactly where he wants them: far away.

So when a new personal assistant, Wesley Paul Santiago, barges quite, literally, into his fast-paced routine, Ashton is anything but pleased. Wesley is loud, persistent, endlessly curious, and annoyingly unafraid of him. For someone used to being avoided, Ashton isn't sure how to deal with someone who refuses to back off.

But as days turn into long nights and small moments begin to pile up, Wesley's presence starts to chip away at the walls Ashton swore he'd never lower. Wesley's strange mix of warmth and stubborn loyalty unsettles him... and at the same time, steadies him in ways he never expected.

As personalities clash and something unspoken starts to grow between them, Ashton slowly realizes that the person he once wanted out of his life might be the very person he no longer knows how to live without.
