Realization

After graduating high school, Caleb feels lost while his loud, reckless friends push him toward a night of drinking and trouble. Seeking direction, he visits a bar where his friend Evangeline works, hoping to see if he'd enjoy working there during his gap year. But when his drunk friends barge in and harass her, the night spirals into violence, ending with Caleb getting punched and Evangeline throwing them out.

She takes him to her home to patch him up, and as they talk, Caleb finally acknowledges that he's outgrown those friends and has no idea what path to take next. Evangeline encourages him to explore and use his gap year wisely. The story ends with Caleb realizing he's ready to leave his old life behind and start figuring out who he actually wants to be.
