In the aftermath of their ordeal in the Canadian wilderness, Tommy and Natalie attempt to move on with their lives, as Tommy embarks on his journey towards becoming a United States Navy SEAL.

Taking place from 1998-2023, the Scotts undergo many trials and tribulations, as Tommy's ambitions both affect and influence his growing children, while Natalie does her best to keep her family together in her own role as its matriarch.

Meanwhile, in the present day, journalist Jessica Roberts quietly investigates the potential behind Tommy's story, working to uncover exactly what he accomplished in her ever-expanding pursuit of knowledge.

As the world enters a new millennium, Tommy and Natalie will find themselves tested in a way they could never have imagined, as they work to build a life together for their growing family.
