Abel has a Very Bad Disease. He coughs up blood and stumbles and faints and throws up after eating the tiniest piece of toast. One day, he sits down on his usual bench to rest after having walked to the park for a bit of fresh air. He is, however, not the only person sitting on that bench. And despite all his rudeness, sarcasm and cold limbs, he starts to get to know that other person very well. But how much time is left? ────────────────── 'Hi,' I said. Spoke. Blurted out. Tried to say. He probably understood anyway. 'Are you okay?' he asked while I wiped some blood from the corner of my mouth. I must've looked astounded, because he quickly added, 'I'm sorry, it's not -' 'I'm fucking incredible,' I interrupted, 'I just walked a mile and now I feel like I'm fucking dying but honestly I feel like I'm fucking dying all the time, and I am probably dying all the time so that's likely the reason why I feel like I'm fucking dying. Because I am. Yay, great. How are you?' My social skills had degenerated much at the same pace as my health. In case that wasn't clear. ────────────────── #1 depression - 30/4/2026 © All Rights Reserved

Hadley Elliot's life is not where he expected it to be at seventeen. He feels like his friends no longer understand him, his parents' apathy is getting harder to ignore and his girlfriend, Elodie, just left him for their more popular classmate, Spencer. As Hadley finds himself becoming more and more detached from the people around him, an incident at school lands him in trouble and leaves him in Spencer's bad books. But as he tries to heal from his first heartbreak and find some deeper connection to a world that seems to be moving without him, Hadley decides to find love in the little things and, in the process, begins to form a bond he didn't expect with the boy who stole his girlfriend.
