I'll Be Okay

She didn't want to leave him. She didn't want to leave anyone. But she didn't want to be a problem, either. So she had to make a decision, quickly. Before Katherine or the others came home.

She slowly stood up on the stool, which wobbled dangerously. But she managed. With shaking hands, she slid the necklace over her head.

She dug through her pocket carefully, till she found the paper. She glanced over at the stack of papers on her desk, glad she had time to write the letters before.

This was it. She wouldn't be in danger, or be a danger.
She would finally be at peace.

So she nudged the stood out from under her, dropping the paper to the ground. Her hand automatically reached up to her neck, her body refusing to die.

When all was still, the letter on the ground finally proved she was a liar in the others' eyes.
