"Are you okay darling?" Reas soft voice echoed through my phone. "I'm okay, I just-" I stop suddenly. I don't want to ruin this, I might just feel like this because she's my best friend. Or it might be my drunk and empty brain tricking me. "You what?" She sounds worried, I don't want to worry her. "I just don't want to live without you, you make me feel safe. Thank you for always being here." I tried to word it in the most friendly way possible, I probably failed. "I won't ever leave." Her words brought a wave of relief, but I can't help the little part of me that thinks that's a lie. He just stood there. Looking at me. The way I had reacted had put him in a state of shock. "I... I um," Every word I had learned from pre-school to now had just flew out of my mind and left me speechless. "I should go." I could tell he could barely hear the hurtful words I had just chocked out of my mouth, but I didn't care. Not anymore. I walked away. Fighting back tears. I drove all the way to my house and when I got there I fell against the cold wall. What had just happened? All I knew is that I wasn't able to think straight. My mind was clouded with memories of him. I shook my head trying to forget everything that was involved with him. But I wasn't able to forget. These thoughts were a part of me now. Tossing and turning over the mattress, My breath heavily and barely dispersed. The vedios in my mind played all night, Of you, me, us, and just us. In a journey where hearts yearned but souls wandered apart, they discovered that true love sometimes meant embracing the courage to release, for the sake of finding happiness in the echoes of what could have been. ... SNEAK A PEAK Never have I ever thought that one day, I'll wake up to hear these words from a person I love the most, romantically.
