"Why did you do that?" He asked, his voice soft and vulnerable.
"Do what?" she questioned back, confused.
"That," he emphasised. "Jumping down the bridge when you didn't know how to swim. Why would you do that, Jaan?" His chest hurt and his throat clogged every time that scene appeared in his mind.
She gave him a smile, the same smile he had fallen for, and the pain in his chest lessened by a fraction.
"I forgot." She answered.
"Huh?"
"When I saw you jumping down the bridge, I forgot that I didn't know how to swim. The only thing on my mind at that time was to save you. I remembered reading somewhere that drowning is the second most painful way to die. How you would be thrashing in the water, trying to breathe oxygen, but when you open your mouth, the only thing you will get is water, water, and water down your throat. Your lungs will burn from the lack of oxygen, but you wouldn't be able to do anything. How you would regret taking that decision every second you're struggling, but by then it will be too late."
And he fell for her even harder at that moment.
