The room is heavy with silence, broken only by her quiet sobs as she sits inside a cold iron cage, her trembling fingers wrapped around the bars while tears slip endlessly down her face.

Footsteps echo through the room and stop right in front of her, a shadow falling over the cage. She slowly lifts her gaze, only to find him already watching her.

He bends down, his hand slipping through the bars as he cups her cheek, his thumb brushing away her tears, slow and deliberate.

"Crying again?" he murmurs."You still don't understand, do you... my canary?"

He tilts her face upward, not letting her look away, his grip steady, leaving no space for escape.

"This cage isn't your punishment," he says quietly. "It's your place."

His fingers press slightly firmer against her skin, holding her there as his gaze lingers, deep and possessive.

"And you..." his voice lowers, darker now, "were never meant to leave it."

He leans closer, his forehead resting against hers, his breath brushing faintly against her skin as his thumb continues its slow movement along her cheek.

A faint smile settles on his lips as he looks at her, quiet, certain... like he's finally claimed something that was always his.

"My beautiful canary," he whispers.
