Jay Halstead and Jim Street served in the army together. They are best friends and brothers forged in fire. They served 20 years and reached the rank of lieutenant. The PTSD got to be too much and had to retire. Jim Street married Donna Troy at 18. Jay Halstead married Erin Lindsay, Jim Street's sister at 18 as well. They were the ones who stayed with them through every night when the PTSD flared. Street and Donna went to LA and Jay and Erin went to Chicago. When a crime scene in Chicago shows that someone from their past is back, Erin Lindsay calls Street and Donna Troy to Chicago. Hank Voight, Antonio Dawson, Hailey Upton, Kim Burgess, and Adam Ruzek are suspicious of who Erin called. They are about to get a crash course in what Erin, Jay, Street and Donna survived.
