Nirn - Tamriel - HammerFell - 4E 211
After the fall of Fort Redman and the collapse of Wayrest, the Red Root was not contained; it evolved. In the scorching sands of Craglorn, where water is scarce and the sun is merciless, the biological parasite underwent a terrifying mutation. Unable to create soft flesh, the Root learned to metabolize silicon and heat, transforming the desert into a vast furnace of living glass.
General Tullius Varo, once a monster born in laboratory tanks, now re-emerges as the "Golden Prophet." Clad in armor of amber and volcanic glass, he marches at the head of the Golden Legion, offering the desperate inhabitants of Hammerfell the only possible protection against the shard storms that ravage the region: assimilation. Under his command, entire cities are "vitrified," eternally preserved as beautiful and grotesque conscious statues.
Xal-Krona, the soulless assassin, arrives in the desert following the trail of ancient magic, only to find a horror that defies his blade. Meanwhile, Doctor Elara Montclair and former Inquisitor Darius Valerius infiltrate the cities protected by Varo, discovering that the false messiah seeks more than just bodies. He marches toward Hel Ra Citadel, where the Memory Stones of the greatest warriors in Redguard history rest. If Varo corrupts the ancestors, the Root will not just have soldiers; it will possess the experience of a thousand years of war.
In a world where transparency is a trap and sunlight is a weapon, the three survivors must shatter the glass before the Root's reflection covers all of Tamriel.
