Smoke is a freak. That's what everyone tells her.
She killed her twin sister in the egg and now is some sort of monster, one that can't touch anyone without it eventually going up in flames. That's her, too weak to be used as a weapon, too dangerous to be treated normally.
So when her tribe finally has the chance to send her off to some faraway academy, it makes sense that they do it without hesitation. It isn't like they ever cared about her in the first place; she spent her entire dragonethood in solitude.
Now, Smoke has to survive school and the terrifying prospect of interacting with other dragons, which might be turning more dangerous than she originally thought...
