The inevitable is coming: technology must evolve alongside magic. 
 
The earth wills it.  After the Third Holocaust nearly extinguished life on her surface, the earth yearns for renewal and she hungers to guide mankind to its destiny ... but it may not be ready.  

Trained from boyhood to be protectorate of the only known community of survivors, Blaze's world turns upside down when he fails to protect the Order from an unexpected and devastating attack.  Then, as he discovers his mentor has turned executioner, finds himself accused of treason while traveling to Moon 514, and falls victim to Toka's secret gene splicing experiments, Blaze's troubles seem boundless as space itself.  

His life is further thrown into confusion when he learns his legendary skills in weaponry are useless against the psionic powers of a small alien whose name no one can pronounce - at least, not without two separately functioning vocal chords.  And while Evelia, his unquenchable crush, becomes the alien's unexpected apprentice, Blaze hearkens to the earth's call to lead mankind's last few survivors to the destiny she envisions for them: a technologically advanced civilization governed by magic.

On an Earth that is not our own, the Moon above is Blue and Green with life, an earth where dragons and great beasts hold absolute dominion over the skies, land, and sea. While humanity, humbled by a troubled past, remains content to live in the sheltered parts of the world. Through a union between the most intelligent species, a planet once ravaged and ruined by conflict and vice has been resurrected into something greater than ever before. A tradition to maintain peace was born, where some fledgling dragons are selected to share half their soul with a random human child. The pair would become Dragon Mage and Archmage respectively, some of the most powerful mortal beings to exist... provided they survive long enough and the odds are heavily against them. 5,000 years later, a human girl named Piiku Ravenfield leaves her quiet village to find her soulmate, only to discover that her partner just so happens to be the Dragon Prince of a faraway land. This Prince named Beskytter Allister Orenstein, despite his young age and residence in human society unlike any previous dragon royalty, is seen as an enigmatic and withdrawn figure. For reasons known only to him, prefers to remain in the skies above and wilds beyond where no human dares tread. Plagued both physically and mentally by follies of the past, his heart has grown hard and his mind divided. Her eyes were a beautiful golden glaze that only seemed to shine brighter when hit with the sun's glow. Her body was toned with muscles, as if she were born with them. Her hair was a deep black, neatly decorated into long, patterned braids that stopped just at her lower back. And scars adorned her front and back torso. 💫 Things were not meant to be like this. His hair was dark and cut long skimming his smooth angled jaw. Brows watching me with the same intensity as I was watching him. Very lovely rich tan color. Shirtless and barefoot, but wearing simple leather pants, with some kind of pack hanging to his hip. Stomach raw with some deep gash and body littered with cuts. The entire picture of him was genuinely mouthwateringly handsome, but with the dagger still held in one hand entirely too deadly. "Stay right there Dothraki!" I called, my rifle finally having something in the crosshairs again. I'd never watched the popular show, but the videos I saw sure had him looking like he could play one of the built characters. The dagger dropped to the ground and he fell to a single knee after it, though he didn't bend to pick it up. He bent to ...bow? His head stayed inclined as he bent and spoke. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. Evelyn Sheer and the researchers are trying to create a genetic modification that enables humans to photosynthesize. Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. Evita isn't ready to leave.
