Hawkins, Indiana was never supposed to change.

For Frankie Blackwell, it's just home-full of bike rides, late nights, and a basement that smells like dust and old board games. She's been friends with Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will for as long as she can remember... even if she refuses to play Dungeons & Dragons.

The night before Will Byers disappears, they're all in Mike's basement. The boys are deep into their campaign, shouting over dice and dragons, while Frankie sits on the couch, half-listening, half-annoyed, wishing the night would end already.

She doesn't know it yet-but that's the last time things will ever feel normal.

When Will vanishes and Hawkins begins to crack open, Frankie is pulled into a nightmare she never asked for. Strange creatures. Government secrets. A world hiding beneath their own. And the terrifying realization that she might have noticed the signs before anyone else did.

Now, with her friends in danger and the town unraveling, Frankie must face a darkness that doesn't care whether she believes in it or not.
