Mei-Lin Zhou was born in Beijing but moved to the rolling hills of Yorkshire, England, at the age of seven, carrying with her a love for both Chinese culture and the quiet English countryside. Small in stature but fierce in determination, she grew up reading voraciously and performing in local theater, her sharp mind and quick wit earning her recognition even before she reached her teens. By the 2000s, Mei-Lin had begun carving out a place for herself in British cinema, known for her nuanced performances and the way she could convey intelligence and vulnerability with a single glance. Her breakout role came when she was cast as Lian Wei, a werewolf Hufflepuff at Hogwarts, a character who discovers a spell that could stop the Killing Curse-a role that demanded both subtlety and courage. Off-camera, she is thoughtful and reserved, often studying her characters' backstories in meticulous detail, but with a mischievous streak and a warm charm that endears her to cast and crew alike. Though she is short in height, her presence is undeniable, and every role she takes on feels imbued with quiet strength, intelligence, and a touch of magic.
