dirty little secrets

it's 1991 and the small town north of michigan had begun snowing. millford was supposed to be a boring small town, the only thing to do was shop at the local mall or play high school football. it wasn't much of a city but yet a cozy place people loved to call home. a typical american town.

one night, the town's perfect, grace, was studying like usual in the late of night when she heard a tap on her window. her heart started pulsing as she looked over to see no one was there. she got up, checking outside the window to see a white letter sitting on her roof. she managed to grab it by her fingertips to see the envelope was sealed shut with the writing in cursive saying her name on the front.

"i know your secret" the letter wrote in black, the ink seeping deeply into coffee-colored paper.

but grace was the town's perfect, right? her father was the mayor of millford and her mother was an elementary school teacher- but herself? she was a wreck.

addison was just like grace, wealthy- perfect on the outside, but had a gaze that made grace's heart skip a beat. there was nothing that flagged addison down to be a target of this serial mailer but yet addison got one too on the very same night, tying them in a secret no one else could see.

this was the first letter, and it wasn't going to be last.
